As I am starting to build the foundation for my new business, I am reminded of the time Natasha and I spent learning about attraction marketing a little over a year ago. We started studying and applying the principles of attraction marketing and even though we believed what we had read would actually start to happen, it's hard to describe how gratifying it was when it really started working. I remember the day that we had our first complete stranger join our business.
Natasha called me and was excited to tell me the news of the day. Someone we didn't know had joined our business, and Natasha had called our sponsor to share the news with him. Our sponsor was an old school network marketer who didn't quite understand the concept of what we had been "working" on for the past several weeks. In his defense, from his perspective all he saw was the fact that we had not been attending team meetings or sponsoring anyone into our business. When Natasha called to tell him that we had in fact been "working" and that we had sponsored someone into our business without even talking to them, our sponsor was quick to point out the fact that it was most likely a case of someone accidentally signing up on the wrong person's site and that once they discoverd the mistake, the corporate office would correct it. Natasha knew better and made a quick call to welcome our new team member.
She was right, this person had found some of the blog articles that she had written, liked what he read and decided to join on our team. Our sponsor was shocked that we had actually sponsored someone into our business without even talking to them, but he assured us that it was obviously a special circumstance, not a trend that would continue. I'm not sure how many people joined our business in a similar manner before he finally started to see that we were on to something real...maybe the 14th or 15th. Additionally, no matter how many times it happens, it never gets old! Even though we know it will happen again and again, we can't help but act a little surprised each time it does.
Just a couple of weeks after beginning my new business, my results are beginning to "surprise" me again. It really never gets old...
